We are stepping into the first structures of the Republic of Turkey. Discover with us.
Despite its bright days in the past, Ankara experienced a decline in population and trade due to the shift in the direction of the mohair trade. This period came to an end when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk convened the parliament in Ankara, declared it the capital, and subsequently announced the establishment of the Republic here. With these changes, the city's appearance began to transform.

Our tour starts at the front of the Faculty of Languages, History, and Geography (Dil ve Tarih-Coğrafya Fakültesi), which was personally established by Atatürk. Here, we meet our Professional Tourist Guide, who will bridge the days of the Republic's founding with the present.

We begin our walk after exploring DTCF, one of the key institutions of higher education in Turkey. Right next to the faculty, we visit another important institution founded by Atatürk, the Turkish Historical Society (Türk Tarih Kurumu).

Moving along Atatürk Boulevard, we observe buildings such as the Ankara Institute of Maturation (Ankara Olgunlaşma Enstitüsü), Ankara Radio, and the Turkish Historical Society. We also learn about the former Ministry of Foreign Affairs building (Eski Hariciye Vekaleti), one of the first buildings used during the Republic’s establishment, as well as the Opera House located across from it. Following this, we visit the Vakıf Eserleri Museum, which houses significant artifacts.

Getting closer to the heart of the Republic, we visit the building of the Emlak ve Eytam Bank, Turkey's third-established bank, now serving as the PTT Stamp Museum. Afterward, we observe the former Tekel Directorate building, the Ziraat Bank, Sümerbank, İş Bank buildings, and then visit the former Prime Ministry Building (Eski Başvekalet Binası). Finally, we conclude our tour by seeing the 1st and 2nd Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) buildings and Ankara Palas.
